About 

I am an  Art Director and Marketer with 20+ years of experience in creating compelling award winning designs and content for multi-channel audiences, consistently delivering sustainable products across multiple platforms through strategically aligning creative concepts with marketing strategies. I am accomplished in developing and guiding highly effective teams by leveraging team members’ individual strengths. I have been recognized throughout my career for keen problem solving ability, demonstrating resilience in demanding environments. I remain active in the design community as a mentor and teacher, I love to travel, cook and paint, and live in Avon, Indiana  with my  partner Dave, stepdaughter Zoey, and two wily cats named Lucky and Snickers. 

 

Career Highlights

At Angie's List I directed design and creation of 130 local magazines in 56 markets with varying page counts and circulation of 2.3M with annual revenue of $37M+.

Improved 2017 print production methods as well as decreased cost through switching to bi-monthly print magazine, as well as implementing national front in 130 magazines while maintaining advertisement revenue.

Lead in-house digital and print brand asset creation by design and photo teams for 2017 marketing campaigns.

Influenced content creation and curation for print, digital and marketing materials through planning around  marketing themes for the quarter/year.

Oversaw buying of print, pre-press work, and press checks for books, magazines, and marketing collateral.

Managed freelance illustrators and photographers for asset creation, as well as freelance budget and contracts. Used established relationships to work with some of the top freelance talents in their fields. 

Guided team to win 200+ design awards and honors, including awards from: The Society of Professional Journalists, RX Awards, Clarion and GDUSA.

Created Angie’s List Design Lab, a visiting artist lecture series and skill building workshops held monthly on campus that helped Angie’s List designer mentoring and networking.

Helped with the creation and design of new print products for Health and Design that drove advertising and membership revenue. 

Art directed several educational periodicals and posters that had a wide span of target audience as well as topics. 

Named one of “Top 30 Designers to Watch in 2016” by Graphic Design USA.
